FarCry uses the built-in Verity K2 search engine that comes as part of the underlying ColdFusion application server. To set up free text searching for your content types all you need to do is configure which content types and what properties you would like to have indexed.

You can find the Verity configuration under the webtop at Admin > Verity Management > Verity Config.

Q. Is the Verity indexing process resource intensive?

It depends on the size and nature of the content to be indexed how many resources Verity requires to operate efficiently. FarCry tries to protect you from indexing content that doesn't need to be indexed by only updating content that has changed since the last update.

Indexing large file libraries can be releatively resource intensive as there is a lot of stuff Verity needs to do.

Generally speaking this is a process that should be scheduled for off-peak traffic periods on the server.
